BP and NASA have united in a mission to establish a permanent base on the Moon and Mars.
BP is joining forces with NASA to establish a “sustained presence” on the Moon and Mars.
The oil giant and the international space agency vowed to “cultivate further innovation in energy and space” as part of their new partnership.
Ken Nguyen, a programme manager at BP, said: “As Nasa pursues a sustained presence on the Moon and Mars, we see a unique opportunity for BP and Nasa to work collaboratively on the forefront of digital technology that will cultivate further innovation in energy and space.”
NASA is already working on the first lunar space station and with BP aims to establish living accommodation on the surface with energy systems.
Meanwhile, across the pond, the UK Space Agency has joined forces with Rolls-Royce on research into nuclear power and the possibility of a permanent base on the moon.
