Microsoft is making its AI-powered Office features part of Microsoft 365 subscriptions.

The tech giant has been charging Personal and Home subscribers $20 per month for access to the features, but Copilot Pro is coming for users in Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Malaysia, Taiwan and Thailand.

In a press release, the company said: “It’s been nine months since we introduced consumers to Copilot in our Microsoft 365 apps via Copilot Pro.

“We’ve spent that time adding new features, improving performance, and listening carefully to customer feedback.

“Based on that feedback, we’re making Copilot part of our Microsoft 365 Personal and Family subscriptions.”

Meanwhile, those markets will also get access to the Microsoft Designer App.

The firm added: “Microsoft 365 Personal and Family subscribers will receive a monthly allotment of AI credits to use Copilot in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneNote, and Designer.

“The credits will also apply to apps like Paint, Photos, and Notepad on Windows.”

However, Microsoft 365 Family subscription owners will be the only ones to access Copilot via the plan, as family members won’t be able to share the pass.

The company also confirmed that Personal and Family prices are being increased as a result of the changes, with existing users seeing the increase “upon their next renewal”.
