The Meta-owned communication app has announced in a blog post that they are introducing a new ‘Chat Theme’ feature in an attempt to boost personal customisation.
Users will be able to swap the colour of the chat bubbles and background and will be able to choose from a variety of colours including purple, blue, orange and pink, rather than being limited to the classic green and white.
The app is also adding 30 new wallpaper options to the app to choose from but the option to upload your own background from your camera roll is still available.
The blog post on the WhatsApp website said: “You can apply the same theme to all your chats, or make each one extra special with different themes,
“Either way, your chat themes are only visible to you. You can also change the theme of your channels.”
The updates have already started to roll out and will be available globally over the coming weeks.
