Kelsea Ballerini halted a concert in Florida to scold the audience for dissing her ex-husband Morgan Evans
The 31-year-old country singer was performing at the Hard Rock Live in Hollywood, Florida on Sunday (23.02.25) when she paused her song ‘Penthouse’ – believed to be about her 2022 split from Evans – to stop fans from shouting “F*** him” while she was singing.
In a video posted on TikTok, Kelsea told the crowd: “Guys, we have to stop saying that. Seriously. We are three years passed it. Everything is fine now. I sing the song for you now, it’s not about me anymore. Please …
“Alright. For everyone that’s moving forward with their lives, will you sing this with me?”
Kelsea then continued singing the track, which features the lyrics: “It hurts putting s*** in a box / And now we don’t talk … And it stings rolling up the welcome mat / Knowing you got half.”
Kelsea tied the knot with fellow singer Morgan in 2017 but they split in 2022 and she has been dating ‘Outer Banks’ actor Chase Stokes, 32, for the last two years.
When asked if she is ready to get married for a second time, she previously told E! News: “I would never say never to anything. Anything that I’ve said a hard no to in my life, I have come back and challenged myself on. I’m happy and everything is as it should.”
Kelsea also explained that she and the Chase have “learned a lot” from their relationship so far and have “challenged” each other to become a “better” partner since they got together.
She said: “We’ve both learned a lot from it and we’ve both really challenged each other to become a better partner for each other, and also just for ourselves. We’re proper teammates now … “
Chase has also spoken out about their relationship, insisting they put extra effort in to spend time together especially when they are working in different states.
He told People: “We don’t BS each other. If we need to make the effort to show up when one’s across the country, we do. The amount of effort that we put into our careers, we should be doubling that in our personal lives.
“It’s about really putting in effort, and it’s not always easy and it’s not always convenient, but having a big, beautiful life didn’t come from convenience or ease.”
