Kate Hudson may never marry Danny Fujikawa.
The 45-year-old actress has been engaged to musician Danny, 38, since late 2021 but would like it to stay that way because she likes to have her “freedom”.
Speaking on ‘The Drew Barrymore Show’, she said: “I think it’s been two or three [years]. My fantasy is to get engaged and to stay engaged. I just don’t have the same kind of like, ‘Oh my God, I’m going to get married … and I can’t wait for the party!’ It’s the opposite.
“I’m like, ‘OK, I have to plan it, and then it’s going to cost so much money,’ and it’s just a lot.
“I lie the idea of being engaged forever. You have the ring, the promise, the ultimate commitment.”
“The contractual thing is tough for me. I like my freedom. … I like the concept of freedom.”
The ‘Almost Famous’ star – who has Ryder, 21, with ex-husband Chris Robinson, Bingham, 13, , with former fiancé Matt Bellamy and 11-year-old Rani with Danny – is the daughter of Hollywood stars Goldie Hawn and Bill Hudson, but noted that she has “modelled” herself on the fact that her mother never actually tied the knot with Kurt Russell, who would eventually raise her.
She said: “This thing when you’re signing this government contract, well, I was raised by Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn, who never signed a contract! So that’s my model!”
Just days ago, Kate revealed that she flirts with “everybody” and that Danny Fujikawa, her fiance, doesn’t have any qualms with her behaviour.
She told Bustle: “I’m the biggest flirt on the planet. So I think anybody who’s ever been with me is very aware that I flirt with everybody – girls, boys.”
