Hayden Panettiere’s hair was left “so damaged” from years of colouring and styling but stylist Becker Chicaiza has helped bring her locks back to life.
Hayden Panettiere’s hair was left “so damaged” from years of colouring and styling.
The 35-year-old actress has praised stylist Becker Chicaiza for “coming to the rescue” to save her blonde locks after all the time she’s spent transforming her appearance for various acting roles took a toll on her tresses.
She wrote on Instagram: “My hair was so damaged from all the bleaching and color changes — not to mention all the heat from styling. Hours in the hair and makeup chair on set had also taken its toll.
“Thank you @BeckerChicaiza for coming to the rescue.
“I’m in love with how this turned out! (sic)”
The former ‘Heroes’ hair star shared a video from the styling session, in which she noted her hair was a “disaster” before Becker got his hands on her.
She said: “I’ve never had roots, like, this long because I did a film. For the film, I had kept my roots, but I bleached my hair Barbie-blonde. [It] zapped my hair off.”
The hairdresser restored Hayden’s blonde and added subtle lowlights, much to her delight.
She exclaimed: “This is the colour that I should have been for a long time. This is gonna make me want to strut down Broadway. Oh, my God, wow! This is insane.”
Becker also added length and volume with extensions, taking Hayden’s hair to just below her shoulders, and styled it into loose waves.
And the ‘Nashville’ actress couldn’t have been happier.
She said: “I feel beautiful. I thought I lost my hair forever. I feel like a beautiful ‘Becker Babe!’”
In an Instagram comment, Becker praised Hayden for being “such a dream to work with”.
He added: “Thank you for trusting Becker to bring your hair back to life. This transformation was all about restoring strength, shine and movement. Welcome to the #BeckerBabe family! (sic)”
Hayden – who has nine-year-old daughter Kaya with former fiance Wladimir Klitschko – previously revealed her hair came out in “clumps” when she turned to alcohol while struggling with postpartum depression.
She told Woman’s Health magazine: “I should have gone on antidepressants (for postpartum depression), but you have to find the right one that works for you.
“They don’t mix well with alcohol, and I wasn’t ready to stop drinking.
“I was the one who put myself in the first treatment centre. I was drowning.
“My body was like, ‘Enough’. I hit 30. My face was swollen. I had jaundice. My eyes were yellow. I had to go to a liver specialist.
“I was holding on to weight that wasn’t normally there. My hair was thin and coming out in clumps.”
