Lauren Graham would “occasionally” wear her own clothes on ‘Gilmore Girls’.

The 58-year-old actress starred as Lorelai Gilmore on the hit series from 2000 until 2007 and for her first Instagram post last year, she posed in a T-shirt that was actually hers but her character wore in the season four episode ‘Ballrooms and Biscotti’.

Speaking on the ‘Call Her Daddy’ podcast, she said: “I think that ‘Everyone loves an Irish girl’ T-shirt that was my introduction to Instagram…yeah guys, I haven’t even been on it a yar yet. I was really waiting to make sure that it was gonna stick.

“And occasionally [I’d use mine].

However, Lauren admitted that most of the time, her character’s fashion choices were “more fun” than her own and she would often arrive to work far too early to even think about wearing her own clothes.

She said: “But you’re going to work at five in the morning, so I wasn’t bringing in anything good. Also, her clothes were more fun, my clothes are not fun.”

Lauren previously admitted that when the series began shooting, she was “so nervous” because she couldn’t decide what to wear on set and she wanted to leave the right impression with the audience.

Speaking on ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show’, she said: ““On the very first day I was so nervous and I couldn’t decide what to wear because it was the scene where you first see my character.

“I kept changing, changing, changing. Finally I had to go so I picked something off the rack, and my dresser pinned it because it was a little big.

“The tag from the shirt I picked on the first day playing this character for the second time and the tag says, ‘Lorelai 2′

“The shirt was called the Lorelai 2. It became such a symbol for me of all the special, magical, incredible things that had to come together and there were a bunch of those.”
