Apple ‘working on mostly glass, curved iPhone’, tech expert claims

Apple is said to be working on a “mostly glass, curved iPhone” as part of a 2027 “product blitz”, according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman.

Apple is said to be working on a “mostly glass, curved iPhone”.

That’s according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, who is expecting a “product blitz” from the tech giant in 2027.

He also believes the first foldable iPhone will be released by 2027, and he expects camera-equipped AirPods could also drop in the next two years.

What’s more, it’s thought Apple will release its own smart glasses to rival Meta’s Ray-Bans.

However, earlier this month, Apple’s senior vice president of services, Eddy Cue, claimed consumers “may not need an iPhone 10 years from now” – because of the rise in artificial intelligence (AI).

The Cupertino-based tech company has dominated the smartphone market since the original iPhone launched in 2007.

But during the Google Search antitrust trial, Apple executive Cue said: “You may not need an iPhone 10 years from now, as crazy as it sounds.

“The only way you truly have true competition is when you have technology shifts. Technology shifts create these opportunities. AI is a new technology shift, and it’s creating new opportunities for new entrants.

“We killed the iPod ourselves with the iPhone.

“Most companies have a very difficult time killing themselves when new technology comes along because you’re afraid, why would you kill the golden goose, in a sense.

“And so, what I see generally is new technologies come about, new companies get formed, the incumbents have a hard time with it.”
