While opening up about her views on ageing, actress Jennifer Garner urged fans to “find somebody fantastic” when it comes to cosmetic procedures.
Jennifer Garner has warned fans to “find somebody fantastic” when it comes to cosmetic procedures.
The actress, 53, is renowned for her healthy glow and natural looks, and has now spoken candidly about her approach to beauty and ageing during an interview with Harper’s Bazaar.
Discussing her views on injectables and plastic surgery, while emphasising the importance of restraint, the 13 Going on 30 actress said: “I don’t do a ton, and Botox doesn’t work very well for me – that’s why I wear bangs a lot.
“I like to be able to move my forehead, and it’s such a big part of my face. I have, like, a five-head.”
She also told fans it was vital to do research get someone “fantastic” if they were thinking of such procedures.
Jennifer said even though she has considered surgery, doctors have advised against it.
The actress added: “I haven’t needed it yet, but I can’t say that I haven’t said to doctors before, ‘Do I need to do this?’
“And I’ve had really nice doctors who have just been like, ‘No.’
“So, God only knows 10 years from now what the conversation will be. I’m not there yet.”
The mother of three – whose kids are Violet, 19, Seraphina, 16, and 13-year-old Samuel – credited staying active with younger people and consistently wearing sunscreen in her twenties for helping her maintain a youthful appearance.
Yet she was clear about her attitude towards ageing, saying: “I want to age. I want to live to be 100. I don’t expect to look at 100 like I look today. I want to wear every single bit of those 100 years and feel great about them.”
Jennifer has previously advised her fans to be cautious with cosmetic treatments.
Speaking to Harper’s Bazaar in July 2022, she said: “My advice is to look at the mirror less and be cautious when it comes to injecting anything into your face.
“Be very, very incredibly judicious and wait as absolutely long as possible to add anything. Don’t think that you’re 37 and you need to be shooting up your face.”
In an interview with People last March, Jennifer also reiterated her message about embracing age, saying: “Take care of yourself, but don’t be scared. Ageing is a gift.”
