In an apparent reference to his divorce from Angelina Jolie, actor Brad Pitt has opened up about learning from his mistakes.
Brad Pitt has opened up about learning from his mistakes.
The 61-year-old actor was speaking at the premiere of F1 in Mexico City, in an interview with Entertainment Tonight, and appeared to be reflecting on the lessons he’s learned following his long-running divorce from Angelina Jolie.
He said: “No matter the mistake, you know, you just learn from (it) and move on.”
Brad added about making an error: “It’ll lead to the next success.”
The A-lister and and Angelina concluded their divorce in December 2024, more than eight years after the actress, 50, first filed to dissolve their marriage in September 2016.
The couple, who starred together in Mr and Mrs Smith, share six children – Maddox, 23, Pax, 21, Zahara, 20, Shiloh, 19, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 16.
Speaking about what keeps him grounded at this point in life, Brad said: “At this age, you see how important it is to surround yourself with the people you know, the people you love, the people that love you back.”
He continued: “Friends, family, and that’s it. From there, we get to go make things. It’s a pretty simple, I think, equation.”
His remarks come two weeks after he addressed the finalisation of the divorce during an interview with GQ.
When asked whether he felt “relief” at the legal end of the marriage, Brad said: “No, I don’t think it was that major of a thing. Just something coming to fruition. Legally.”
Angelina’s lawyer, James Simon, issued a statement to Page Six at the time of the finalisation of the split, saying: “More than eight years ago, Angelina filed for divorce from Mr. Pitt. She and the children left all of the properties they had shared with Mr Pitt, and since that time she has focused on finding peace and healing for their family.”
He added: “This is just one part of a long ongoing process that started eight years ago. Frankly, Angelina is exhausted, but she is relieved this one part is over.”
Legal filings from Angelina’s team stated she had waived “any right to receive” spousal support from Brad “forever”.
Brad is currently dating 34-year-old Ines de Ramon, while Angelina is thought to be single.
