Apple’s Mac line-up through 2026 ‘revealed’

Apple’s Mac line-up through to 2026 has supposedly been leaked – with 15 unreleased laptops said to be currently in development.

Apple’s Mac line-up through to 2026 has supposedly been revealed.

According to AppleInsider, leaked internal product identifiers have revealed Apple’s Mac roadmap through late 2026, including updates to the MacBook Pro and Air powered by Apple’s next-generation chips.

The outlet claims 15 unreleased Mac models are currently in development. Among these are M5-equipped 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models, an M5-powered MacBook Air in both 13-inch and 15-inch sizes, as well as M5 variants of the iMac and Mac Mini .

The identifiers suggest Apple plans to launch M6 MacBook Pro devices by late 2026, though these seem to retain the familiar 14-inch and 16-inch screen sizes.

The report explains that Apple’s internal naming convention makes it possible to map identifier codes to product lines.

For example, models tagged J813 and J815 signal the return of the 13- and 15-inch MacBook Air in early 2026, likely featuring a straightforward M5 chip upgrade.

In addition, next-generation MacBook Pro models coded K114 and K116 – often understood to represent display size – appear alongside identifiers tied to a new OLED screen, aligning with analyst predictions suggesting Apple will adopt OLED panels in its MacBook lineup starting in 2026.

If the roadmap is accurate, Apple is executing a phased refresh strategy: solidifying the M5 generation across MacBook products in 2025-2026 while preparing the next leap to M6 chips, possibly coupled with OLED display technology and refinements to design and performance.

This comes after it was claimed Apple is working on a budget-friendly MacBook which will be powered by the A18 Pro chip – currently found in the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max – instead of the usual M-series processor, which has been the standard since the Apple Silicon was introduced in 2020.

Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said the supposed cheaper MacBook is expected to enter mass production later this year or in early 2026.
