Rihanna: I’ve always wanted a baby girl

Pop star Rihanna has revealed that she’d love to have a baby girl.

Rihanna has “always wanted” a baby girl.

The 37-year-old star is currently pregnant with her third child, and after previously having two baby boys with A$AP Rocky, Rihanna admits that she’d love to have a little girl one day.

Asked about the sex of her unborn baby, Rihanna told Extra: “You have to wait and see. Oh, my gosh, are you guys going to be so hurt if it’s a boy?”

Extra’s Terri Seymour then replied: “I think we’re secretly hoping you have a girl … because you’ve got your two sweet, sweet boys.”

Rihanna – who already has RZA, three, and Riot, 23 months – subsequently admitted that she’d love to have a baby girl, even though she’s relished the experience of raising her two boys.

She explained: “I’ve always wanted a girl. God knows best, right? And I love my boys.”

Rihanna also confirmed that her unborn baby’s name will begin with the letter R, describing it as a “tradition”.

She said: “I mean, of course. It’s tradition at this point.”

Rihanna has enjoyed huge success with make-up and lingerie brands, having put her music career on the back-burner in recent years.

However, the singer confessed in 2024 that motherhood has changed her entire approach to fashion and style.

Speaking to Interview magazine, she explained: “It’s more like I spend my time getting the kids dressed to death, and then I’m like, ‘What’s the most comfortable outfit to wear around them? What’s not going to feel uncomfortable on their face or on their body or make me feel like I can’t hold them properly?’ Moms are lazy dressers in real life.”

RIhanna has already achieved billionaire status, but she’s still happy for her youngest son to wear RZA’s old clothes.

Asked if she has “racks of children’s clothes”, the Smurfs star replied: “I have racks, I have bags. They’re all sized and organised, and then whatever gets too small for RZA, I put into bins so that Riot can have them next.

“Riot is actually in all of RZA’s one-year-old clothes already. He’s only six months. Everybody thinks Rocky dresses them because I dress them in Rocky outfits.”
