Apple’s iPhone foldable screen sizes ‘revealed’

Apple’s first foldable iPhone is reportedly due to feature screen sizes ranging between 7.9 inches and 8.3 inches.

Apple’s first foldable iPhone is reportedly set to feature display sizes ranging between 7.9 inches and 8.3 inches.

According to new information from TrendForce, the device, which is rumoured to launch in late 2026, is said to adopt a book-style design similar to Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold series.

MacRumors reports that Apple is currently testing multiple prototypes with slightly varying screen dimensions, though sources suggest the final design will likely fall within the eight-inch range when fully unfolded.

The panels will reportedly be supplied by Samsung Display, which has previously worked with Apple on OLED technology for its flagship iPhone models.

While Apple has yet to confirm any details about the foldable iPhone, speculation around its features is mounting.

The device will supposedly include a redesigned hinge system aimed at reducing the visibility of the central crease – a common issue with current foldable devices.

Apple is also said to be focusing on ensuring durability and a seamless experience when switching between folded and unfolded modes.

Other rumoured specifications include the use of Apple’s next-generation A19 Bionic chip, which is expected to deliver improved AI performance and energy efficiency.

The foldable iPhone could also feature an upgraded camera system with advanced periscope zoom capabilities, along with support for Apple Pencil-like functionality on the large inner display.

Reports suggest the device may carry a premium price tag of at least $2,000, positioning it as one of Apple’s most expensive smartphones to date.

It is also likely to launch alongside iOS 27, which is reportedly being designed with new features specifically tailored for foldable devices.

While much of the information remains unconfirmed, Apple’s entry into the foldable market is expected to significantly shift the landscape, leveraging its loyal user base and established hardware expertise.
