Google launches new AI feature in U.S. that will let you try on clothes

Google has introduced the AI-powered tool Try On in the U.S. that lets shoppers virtually see how clothes would look on them before buying.

Google has released a new AI-powered feature that allows U.S. shoppers to virtually try on clothes before purchasing.

Try On, now available on Google Shopping, is designed to make online fashion shopping more intuitive and personalised.

According to Google, the feature uses advanced generative AI models to create realistic images of clothing on various body types, enabling shoppers to see how items might look before committing to a purchase.

Users can select from a diverse range of models with different skin tones, body shapes, and sizes, helping them make more informed decisions when buying clothing online.

In its official announcement, Google said: “Our new virtual try-on feature brings online shopping closer to the real-world experience, letting you see how clothes might fit and flow on real models.

“We’re making fashion shopping more inclusive and accessible by representing a wide variety of body types and styles.”

Currently, the tool supports a growing selection of items from popular U.S. retailers, with Google planning to expand its catalogue in the coming months.

This addition complements other AI-driven shopping updates, such as enhanced price alerts and smarter product comparisons.

Shoppers can use the virtual try-on by searching for specific items through Google Shopping and selecting the Try On button to view the garment on different model types.

The feature is particularly focused on back-to-school fashion but will continue to expand into other categories over time.

By integrating AI into online retail, Google aims to bridge the gap between in-store and digital shopping experiences.

This feature is rolling out to U.S. users first, with international availability expected later this year.
