Apple’s upcoming iPhone 17 Pro has reportedly been spotted in the wild – indicating the upcoming device will indeed have a redesigned camera system.
Apple’s upcoming iPhone 17 Pro has reportedly been spotted in public.
In a post on social media from user Skyfops, images of what is believed to be a development prototype reveal a redesigned rear camera module with larger lenses and a refreshed alignment, likely to support the rumoured 8x telephoto zoom lens.
The supposed new iPhone was being hidden in a discreet black case, but the device’s shifted LiDAR scanner and flash lines up with previous reports about the handset’s redesigned camera system.
The sighting adds weight to reports suggesting Apple is planning its most advanced camera system yet.
Alongside the telephoto upgrade, the iPhone 17 Pro is expected to feature a dedicated pro camera app with enhanced manual controls, expanded RAW capabilities, and professional-grade video tools aimed at content creators.
Beyond its camera, the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max are rumoured to introduce a thinner aluminium frame and reduced bezels, making the devices lighter and sleeker without sacrificing durability.
Apple is also expected to include the powerful A19 Bionic chip, promising improved performance, energy efficiency, and AI-driven features across the system.
Display enhancements are also on the cards, with speculation pointing to brighter OLED panels and potential support for new always-on display customisation.
Battery life is expected to improve thanks to advances in Apple’s battery technology and the efficiency gains of the A19 chip.
Other rumours hint at upgraded Face ID hardware and expanded use of AI features within iOS 26, which will debut alongside the new devices, likely in September 2025.
