Sharon Stone was ‘frustrated’ by use of rubber knives in Nobody 2 scenes

Sharon Stone demanded to use real knives instead of rubber utensils during filming for the action sequel Nobody 2.

Sharon Stone got “frustrated” throwing rubber knives in Nobody 2.

The 67-year-old actress features in the upcoming action sequel as antagonist Lendina and demanded that real knives be used in the scenes to make things more authentic.

Sharon told Empire magazine: “I’ve been in the action-movie business for a really long time.

“I was getting really frustrated because the stunt team was having me throw a bunch of f****** rubber knives. If you’re going to throw knives, throw real knives.”

Sharon had not appeared in an action movie since suffering a life-threatening stroke in 2001 and admits that she had doubts about whether she could return to the genre after being approached for a role in the film alongside Bob Odenkirk.

The Basic Instinct star said: “Twenty years ago or so I had a stroke. And I started over, and I haven’t done an action movie since then.

“I literally did not know, ‘Do I still have it in me? Am I going to be able to come in here and make people believe that I can be this ass-kicking hyper-villain?'”

Sharon was convinced to sign up for the sequel after watching the original 2021 flick Nobody with her kids – adopted sons Roan, 25, Laird, 20, and Quinn, 19 – and explained that they were thrilled when she accepted the part.

The Total Recall star said: “When I was up for it, my kids were out of my minds.”

She also relished the opportunity to collaborate with Better Call Saul star Odenkirk.

Stone said: “He’s a good guy. I love the work, Odenkirk loves his work. He’s like (Robert) De Niro, working to work better.”

Bob also enjoyed the experience and is now planning to work together with her on another film.

The 62-year-old star said: “We’re trying to think of another movie we can do together.

“I have an idea that I’ve been kicking around. A very low-key comedy.”

The idea to cast Sharon as the villain came about as Odenkirk wants the Nobody franchise to become a “fantasy” in a similar way to the James Bond films.

He said: “I want it to become a fantasy.

“I want it to become James Bond, and I want the villain to be as big and colourful and unreal as a James Bond villain.”

Odenkirk suffered a heart attack while filming Better Call Saul in 2021 but insists that reprising his role as ex-government assassin Hutch Mansell did not pose a health risk.

He explained: “There’s almost no scarring on my heart after all that.

“And the reason is, according to the nurse and my cardio doctor, is that these other veins that feed your heart were somewhat enlarged. They’re bigger than you normally see, and that was because of the two-and-a-half years of training for Nobody.

“I can work out. I do two a day when I’m training for the movie.”
