iOS 26 features now available on Android in Apple Music 5.0 beta

Android users can now experience several iOS 26 features through the Apple Music 5.0 beta for Android, marking a rare step in cross-platform feature parity.

Android users can now experience several iOS 26 features through the Apple Music 5.0 beta for Android.

The update introduces Android listeners to a refreshed interface and new tools that debuted with iOS 26.

Although the signature Liquid Glass redesign is not yet included on Android, the beta does bring clean visual tweaks.

Rounded-rectangle controls have been replaced with pill-shaped buttons across the app – in queue views, shuffle, repeat, and autoplay controls, and Play/Shuffle options in album listings.

More importantly, the beta adds support for pinning music directly to your Library, a feature that debuted in iOS 26.

Users can pin songs, albums, playlists, or artists via overflow menus, and these pins sync across Apple devices.

Users can also long-press a pinned item to unpin or customise the tap behaviour (like play or go to album). Auto-download of pinned tracks is also optional.

Other iOS 26 music features included in the beta are Lyrics Translation and Pronunciation, letting users understand and sing along to songs in other languages directly from the app.

The music replay screen has also been updated, giving users access to month-by-month and year-end listening stats.

The beta is rolling out via the Google Play Store and is open to testers via Apple Music’s Android beta programme.

While the Android version is yet to receive the full visual overhaul that comes with Liquid Glass, the introduction of pinning and lyric translation marks a clear effort by Apple to deliver some of iOS 26’s best music features across platforms.

These changes underscore Apple’s strategy of widening feature access, even beyond its own ecosystem, while building anticipation ahead of the full iOS 26 launch later this year.
