Former James Bond actor Pierce Brosnan has offered his best advice to next 007 actor – “be bold” and “have a great time”.
Pierce Brosnan’s advice for the next actor to play James Bond is to “be bold” and “have a great time”.
The 72-year-old actor played 007 in four movies from 1995 to 2002; GoldenEye, Tomorrow Never Dies, The World Is Not Enough and Die Another Day.
As one of only seven actors to have played Bond on the big screen, Brosnan has offered some words of wisdom to the man who takes over the tuxedo following Daniel Craig’s final film No Time To Die.
Speaking to Extra at the premiere of his new movie The Thursday Murder Club, he said: “Be bold. Enjoy it. Know yourself, be strong, go out there and have a great time.”
And Pierce insists whoever is lucky enough to be cast as the British spy will see their life totally changed by the iconic role.
He added: “There’s so many wonderful actors. It’s a magnificent role. Whoever finds the role, it will change their life.”
In his new Netflix film, The Thursday Murder Club, Brosnan stars alongside Dame Helen Mirren, 80, Sir Ben Kingsley, 81, and Celia Imrie, 73.
The movie is adapted from Richard Osman’s bestselling book about a group of retirees who come together to try and solve a murder, and Brosnan admits it was Osman’s writing and the quality of the characters that attracted him to the project.
He said: “It’s just the humanity of it. It takes courage to get old, to be yourself. At any age, it really takes courage to live life, and these people are full of vibrancy and they’re full of passion. One wants to live, so that’s what it’s about.”
Dune director Denis Villeneuve has been confirmed to be helming the next James Bond film, but the identity of the next 007 is still not known.
Actors who have been named as possible successors to Daniel Craig include Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Wolves of War star Scott Rose-Marsh, Mike Dickman, Tom Hardy and former Superman star Henry Cavill.
