Kate Cassidy has posted an emotional Instagram video where she stored keepsakes given to her by her late boyfriend Liam Payne in a memory box.
Kate Cassidy has stored precious items given to her by her late boyfriend Liam Payne in a memory box.
The 26-year-old influencer shared a poignant video on Instagram on Tuesday (16.09.25) which showed her filling the box with letters, cards and photographs that the One Direction singer – who died aged 31 last October after falling from a hotel balcony in Buenos Aires, Argentina – had given to her.
In a clip, Kate added the keepsakes to a floral box and wrote: “She probably threw them away.”
The influencer wrote in the caption: “Don’t forget to write your loved ones a letter, tomorrow is not guaranteed.”
Kate had been dating Liam for two years prior to his death and tearfully mourned his loss last month when she made a cake for what would have been his 32nd birthday.
She wrote: “Happy birthday Liam, I know you still have the sweetest tooth in heaven.
“I tried my best here but it’s the thought that counts, enjoy.”
Cassidy added: “8.29.93. A special day for the most special soul. I miss you so much. Happy birthday Liam. I wish we could celebrate together. In the next life I guess.”
The influencer confessed earlier this year that she was struggling to “get out of bed” following Liam’s tragic death.
She told the UK TV show Lorraine in March: “I’ve always enjoyed walking. I would consider myself an active person but obviously, now I’m going through this healing journey, sometimes it’s hard for me to get out of bed in the morning and it is something that I don’t want to do.
“In a way, I have no choice. I have to get out of bed. A 20-minute walk refreshes my mind, it gets me out of bed and really, really helps my mental health.”
Kate – who had been with Liam in Buenos Aires before leaving to go back to the US before the tragic fall happened – explained how she still discusses the Strip That Down artist in the present tense and has “better days and harder days” amid her grief.
She said: “I find myself talking about him still very much in the present tense. I don’t even feel the need to correct myself because I still can’t fully…it’s part of my healing journey. I’m still working on accepting the fact that he’s not here anymore so it’s hard for me to refer to him in the past tense. And when I do refer to him in the past tense, it almost stings that little bit more. It’s more official. I never would have thought I would be talking about him in the past tense so it’s definitely really hard to accept.”
