As rumours grow he wants back in the folds of the royal family in the UK, it’s emerged Prince Harry has asked Joss Stone about her family’s return to Britain.
Prince Harry has asked Joss Stone about her family’s return to Britain.
The Duke of Sussex, 40, who has been at the centre of speculation he wants to return to royal duties in the UK since his recent reconciliation meeting with King Charles, spoke with Joss, 38, at the WellChild Awards at the Royal Lancaster Hotel on 8 September while on a four-day visit to the UK.
The singer has now revealed he also praised the strength of UK schools and communities during their meeting in London.
According to Hello!, the Duke of Sussex questioned Joss about how her family was adjusting to life back in Britain after spending time in the United States, where Harry has lived with his wife Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, 44, since 2020.
Joss said: “He also asked about how we were settling back in and was genuinely interested in our move home. He’s just very warm and down to earth, as always.
“Maybe Harry will move back too. That would be nice. He was saying how wonderful the schools are here and how important community is for children.
“It was nice to share that with him because it’s exactly why we felt drawn to come back – for the kids to grow up surrounded by family, friends and a strong sense of belonging and most importantly in a safe environment.”
The comments came days after Daily Mail journalist Richard Eden reported Harry is considering having his children, Archie and Lilibet, educated in Britain.
Joss, who recently gave birth to her daughter Nalima, said it was “really sweet to see him after all these years” and praised Harry for being “so lovely” with the newborn.
She added: “He joked about me having four children, saying it’s ‘two too many’ – or maybe it wasn’t a joke!”
Joss has four children with her American husband Cody DaLuz, and the family recently relocated from Nashville, Tennessee, to Britain.
Harry and Meghan live in Montecito, California, with their kids.
Joss attended their wedding at Windsor Castle in 2018 and has long been a supporter of Harry’s charitable work, performing at the 2007 Concert for Diana at Wembley Stadium and first meeting him at a Prince’s Trust event in 2005.
Harry previously told The Guardian during his UK trip that the visit had “definitely brought that closer” regarding spending more time in his home country.
But his potential return is complicated by security arrangements.
After losing a Court of Appeal case against the Home Office earlier this year, he told BBC News: “I can’t see a world in which I would be bringing my wife and children back to the UK at this point, and the things that they’re going to miss is, well, everything you know.
“I love my country, I always have done, despite what some people in that country have done. So you know? I miss the UK, I miss parts of the UK. Of course I do. And I think that it’s really quite sad that I won’t be able to show my children my homeland.”
