Konami asks fans what Metal Gear game should get a remake next after Snake Eater

Ahead of the studio’s appearance at Tokyo Game Show, Konami has asked fans what Metal Gear game it should remake next.

Konami has opened the door to fans over which Metal Gear title should be remade next, following the recent release of Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater.

Ahead of the studio’s appearance at Tokyo Game Show on Thursday (25.09.25), Konami launched a survey that asked players to select which entries in the long-running stealth franchise they would most like to see reimagined.

Options included classics such as Metal Gear, Metal Gear Solid, Sons of Liberty, and Guns of the Patriots, as well as Peace Walker and Ground Zeroes.

Notably, spinoffs like Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance and Metal Gear Survive were absent from the list.

It’s an unusual move from Konami, with the studio historically being secretive about its plans for the series.

The survey also reportedly asked fans to weigh in on how the company communicates news about the franchise, hinting that more remakes could be on the horizon.

The latest project, Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, is a ground-up reimagining of the 2004 PlayStation 2 classic, and released last month.

Previously, Konami explained it decided to remake Snake Eater because younger players didn’t know the Metal Gear franchise.

Noriaki Okamura, series producer at Konami, told Play magazine: “One of the things that really sparked us to do the remake in general is because we realised that a lot of the newer, younger generation of gamers aren’t familiar with the Metal Gear series anymore.”
