Electronic Arts has hinted naval warfare may be coming to Battlefield 6.
Electronic Arts has teased that Battlefield 6 might include large-scale naval combat.
In a new post shared by the official Battlefield Communications account on X, the studio teased that “requests for naval warfare have not gone unnoticed, nor have the calls for a certain fan-favorite little helicopter, platoons, and more”.
EA added Battlefield 6 will have “more content” than any previous Battlefield game.
EA has not officially confirmed details, but DICE developers reportedly described the feature internally as “a new era for Battlefield destruction,” with ocean environments that will be fully dynamic – featuring shifting tides, weather effects, and ship-to-ship combat physics powered by the Frostbite engine.
Fans have been vocal for years about the desire to see naval warfare return, and the teaser suggests Battlefield 6 could be the most ambitious entry yet.
As well as the possible return of naval warfare, EA confirmed Season 1 of Battlefield 6 will begin on October 28.
The roadmap released by EA indicates that included content for the first update of the season includes the map Blackwell Fields, mode Strikepoint and the Traverser Mark 2.
The second instalment of Season 1 is planned for November 18, with the third coming on December 9.
Battlefield 6 is to release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and PC on October 10, 2025.
