Activision is giving players a free trial of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 – just a day before the launch of Battlefield 6.
Activision has announced a free trial for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, timed to coincide directly with the launch of Battlefield 6 later this month.
The publisher confirmed that the free trial will run for a week from October 9, giving players full access to Black Ops 6’s campaign, multiplayer and Zombies modes across all platforms.
The free trial will also include new content from The Haunting update, including the Mothball, Gravity and Rig Multiplayer maps, and the limited-time mode Havoc Zombies.
The free week will see the 2024 shooter compete directly with Electronic Arts’ Battlefield 6, which will launch on October 10.
Set across global flashpoints in a near-future conflict, Battlefield 6 introduces naval warfare, dynamic weather systems, and seamless map evolution that reshapes the battlefield in real time.
The title’s campaign follows a multinational squad navigating the chaos of escalating world conflict, while multiplayer brings back classic Conquest and Breakthrough modes, plus an all-new sandbox experience called Operations.
Multiplayer remains the heart of the experience, with standout maps like Siege of Cairo – a tight, urban maze perfect for infantry combat – and Liberation Peak, a sprawling mountain range ideal for snipers, tanks, and jets.
Every map supports multiple modes, from large-scale Conquest to objective-based Rush, with layouts changing depending on playlist.
Meanwhile, weapon customization has also been overhauled, ditching Battlefield 2042’s “Plus System” in favour of a more tactical approach.
Players manage attachment points to fine-tune builds – balancing trade-offs between suppressors, scopes, and powerful ammo types like Soft Point rounds.
Developer DICE says the system keeps progression meaningful while staying true to Battlefield 6’s grounded, military aesthetic.
