Miranda Kerr ‘checked in’ on Katy Perry right after her flight into space

Miranda Kerr has revealed she was one of the first people to “check in” on Katy Perry after she travelled into space.

The Roar hitmaker was heavily criticised for her participation in Jeff Bezos’ Blue Origin space flight earlier this year, but the model – who was previously married to Katy’s ex-fiance Orlando Bloom – has revealed how she was one of the first people to call her after the trip in April.

She told Today With Jenna and Friends: “I spoke to her, and I was like, ‘How are you feeling?’ “She was laying down in the back of the bus, and she was like, ‘Wow that was intense.’

“I was like, ‘I just wanted to check in on you. Are you good? I’m glad you’re in one piece.’ I adore her.”

The 42-year-old star – who has 14-year-old son Flynn with Orlando – has always been close to Katy during her nine-year relationship with the Pirates of the Caribbean actor, with whom she has five-year-old daughter Daisy Dove.

Miranda is also mother to Hart, seven, Myles, six, and 19-month old Pierre with husband Evan Spiegel, and she revealed how everyone focus is on “the best needs of the children” involved in the blending family.

She said: “Having love and respect for each other is so important.

“Everyone’s human, and that’s important to really put the children first and what’s the best needs of the children and how do we make everyone feel accepted and loved.

“At the end of the day we’re all human and we’re all trying to be the best versions of ourselves. Why not be good examples for our children?”

Last month, Miranda confirmed that the trio were all good friends despite Katy and Orlando’s breakup, which they revealed publicly in July.

Appearing on the Kyle and Jackie-O Show on September 3, she said: “I was with them on the weekend. We have a photo.

“It was very sweet. Katy and I were talking to Orlando, and they were like, ‘Oh, let’s get a photo.’

“It was kinda funny. Katy sent me the photo of Orlando and like his two exes on the side: Me and Katy. We all had such a big smile on our faces. You know, we’re one big happy family.”
