EA has officially revealed Battlefield: Redsec, the long-awaited free-to-play battle royale mode for Battlefield 6, which will receive a gameplay trailer later on October 28.
Electronic Arts and Battlefield Studios have officially announced Battlefield: Redsec, the long-rumoured battle royale mode for Battlefield 6.
The reveal came as a surprise to fans, with EA dropping the announcement across its social media channels alongside news of a launch trailer premiere at 2PM BST / 9AM ET / 6AM PT on YouTube today (28.10.25).
The studio wrote in a post on X: “Eyes up. Plates on. #REDSEC arrives tomorrow at 8:00 PT / 15:00 UTC.”
Few official details have been shared about Redsec, but the mode has been a constant topic of leaks since its testing under Battlefield Labs.
Early footage suggested large-scale squad combat, dynamic weather, and tactical loadout systems that bridge the gap between Battlefield 6’s chaotic sandbox and traditional battle royale mechanics — though EA has not confirmed these features for launch.
The shadow drop comes just as Battlefield 6 continues to surge in popularity, ahead of its Season 1 update.
Developer DICE recently outlined gameplay and balance improvements, including tweaks to visibility, weapon accuracy, and progression – a move that’s been widely praised by players.
Redsec’s arrival marks Battlefield’s boldest step yet into the competitive battle royale space, directly challenging genre heavyweights like Call of Duty: Warzone and Apex Legends.
