Emily in Paris star Ashley Park relished filming in Venice

Ashley Park has revealed that she cherished the experience of filming in Venice.

Ashley Park loved filming season five of Emily in Paris in Venice.

The hit Netflix show moved to Italy for its latest season, and Ashley – who plays Mindy Chen in the comedy series – has revealed that she particularly relished filming in Venice.

The 34-year-old actress told People: “We ended filming in Venice, so just to be able to explore or be in a new environment completely was just really once in a lifetime.”

Ashley is now looking forward to watching the new season of the show for herself.

She said: “It’s definitely not goodbye because I don’t think I’ve watched the full season yet. So I’m going to have to say hello to her again.”

Earlier this month, Ashley revealed that her on-screen character enjoys some “big moments” in the new season of Emily in Paris.

Ashley told Us Weekly: “There’s definitely some big, big moments in terms of song and dance with Mindy this year, which I’m super excited for people to see.”

Mindy also goes on an emotional rollercoaster during the new season.

Ashley stars as the best friend of Emily, played by Lily Collins, in the show, and the upcoming season really explores their friendship.

The actress explained: “There’s a lot of emotional elements in this new season that we really haven’t delved into before.

“I think it’s always fun doing that, that we really understand the characters in those relationships, the friendship between them and that sisterhood, all the real ways in which those get tested.”

Ashley likened filming the latest series to shooting “three movies in one summer”.

She said: “That teaser is just from Rome, and as people know, we filmed in Rome, Paris for a big chunk and also Venice, so it feels like we filmed three movies in one summer.

“The first season, I spent most of my time sitting in a cafe talking to Emily, and this season, I kid you not, I spent more hours on a boat than sitting in a café: the different water taxis in Venice, the gondolas, the speedboats in Rome. I was on a boat a lot.”
