Battlefield 6 has reportedly sold over 10 million copies sold across all platforms.
Since its release last month, the blockbuster shooter has garnered a massive following, particularly among PC players, new data from Alinea Analytics suggests.
Battlefield 6 even made history with the largest launch in the series – reaching over seven million copies sold initially.
However, despite these impressive sales, Battlefield 6 is reportedly still yet to dethrone Call of Duty as the dominant force in the shooter market, according to industry analyst Rhys Elliot from Alinea Analytics.
Elliot pointed out that while Battlefield 6 has gained significant momentum, its success is not enough to challenge Call of Duty’s established market dominance.
The analyst points to Call of Duty position as a multi-platform powerhouse which extends far beyond the PC market, and continues to benefit from a vast, loyal, and casual player base that consistently buys the game year after year.
While Battlefield 6 has enjoyed a wave of goodwill thanks to improvements over its predecessor Battlefield 2042, Call of Duty’s large casual audience, bolstered by in-game promotions and its integration with Warzone, seemingly ensures that it maintains a sales advantage.
Although Battlefield 6 is experiencing impressive sales figures and has sparked excitement within the gaming community, it faces an uphill battle against Call of Duty’s entrenched market presence, especially with COD: Black Ops 7 due to launch next week (14.11.25).
Battlefield 6 sales are ‘huge, but not big enough to beat Call of Duty’
