Google has expanded its no-code AI app builder Opal to over 160 countries, enabling users worldwide to create and share AI-powered mini-apps for automation, content creation, and rapid prototyping without writing any code.
Google is expanding Opal, its no-code AI app creation tool, from 15 countries to more than 160 worldwide.
The expansion aims to make AI app development accessible to anyone, regardless of programming experience, and to fuel a wave of productivity and creativity tools powered by Google’s Gemini models.
Launched earlier this year, Opal allows users to build and deploy mini-apps without writing a single line of code.
Instead, users describe what they want the app to do – from automating workflows to generating marketing content – and Opal assembles the logic, interface, and AI integrations automatically.
The platform has already found popularity among creators, small businesses, and educators experimenting with automation and lightweight AI tools.
According to Google, three use cases have gained particular traction, those being automating repetitive tasks, creating custom content, and turning ideas into prototypes within minutes.
Users have built apps that extract and summarise web data into Google Sheets, generate marketing materials like social media posts and ad scripts, and design interactive tools for storytelling, quizzes, and travel planning.
Opal is also emerging as a rapid MVP (minimum viable product) builder, letting entrepreneurs validate concepts before committing developer resources.
Google has said the tool has been used to generate thousands of apps ranging from language-learning tutors to contract analysis bots.
The global expansion will make Opal available through Google Labs, with integrations across Workspace tools like Docs, Sheets, and Drive.
The move underscores Google’s growing push to democratise AI development, competing with Microsoft’s Power Apps and OpenAI’s GPT Builder by simplifying the process of building practical, AI-enhanced utilities for everyday users.
Google has said Opal will continue to evolve with more Gemini-powered capabilities and support for team collaboration later this year.
