Nothing confirms Nothing OS 4.0 public launch for TODAY

Nothing has announced that its Android-16–based Nothing OS 4.0 update begins rolling out today (21.11.25) to supported devices, bringing major UI, AI and feature upgrades across the Phone lineup.

Nothing has confirmed that its long-awaited Android 16–based update, Nothing OS 4.0, will officially launch on November 21, 2025.

Following weeks of open beta testing and months of anticipation from fans, the London company has teased the “wait is nearly over” for its next version of Nothing software.

While Nothing hasn’t yet published a definitive device list for the stable build, the supported roster from the open beta offers a clear indication of what to expect.

Nothing OS 4.0 has already been tested on the Nothing Phone (2) and Phone (3), alongside the more affordable Phone (2a), 2a Plus, (3a) and (3a) Pro.

These models are widely expected to receive the update today (21.11.25).

Additional support is likely to extend to newer variants such as the Phone (3a) Lite, as well as devices under Nothing’s CMF sub-brand, which also run Nothing OS and remain eligible for OS upgrades.

The update itself marks one of the biggest overhauls to Nothing’s software to date, bringing a wave of Android 16 features as well as several new design and AI-powered enhancements.

Users can expect Extra Dark Mode, Pop-Up View multitasking, a new 2×2 Quick Settings tile, additional lock-screen clock styles, and “Essential Apps” – modular, shareable widgets hosted on the Nothing Playground.

Camera upgrades also feature prominently, with the Phone (2) line gaining the “Stretch” mode previously exclusive to the Phone (3).

Nothing OS 4.0 originally drew attention for its Lock Glimpse feature, which promised “timely updates and useful content” on the lock screen, but the company has since walked this back.

On the Phone 3a series, Lock Glimpse will be disabled by default.

With the update rolling out imminently, Nothing users should start to see the update land on their devices soon.
