Resident Evil Requiem WILL feature Leon S. Kennedy, leaked PlayStation Store key art suggests

A PlayStation Store leak has confirmed Leon S. Kennedy will appear in Resident Evil Requiem, resolving months of speculation ahead of the title’s showcase at The Game Awards.

Resident Evil Requiem will indeed feature Leon S. Kennedy, according to leaked PlayStation Store key art that appears to confirm the fan-favourite agent’s long-rumoured return.

The image, which surfaced on PlayStation 5 pre-download screens for the standard edition of Capcom’s upcoming sequel, shows a weathered, RE4-era Leon looming over co-protagonist Grace Ashcroft.

IGN has verified the art, ending months of speculation and silence from Capcom just days before the title’s planned appearance at The Game Awards – where Leon now seems all but guaranteed to appear in gameplay.

Leon’s involvement has been one of Requiem’s biggest mysteries.

Capcom repeatedly dodged questions about him throughout 2025, even dismissing recent “leaks” as AI fakes.

Producers hinted that Leon might be too hardened to fit the game’s quieter horror sections, suggesting his role – if any – would skew toward its more action-heavy sequences.

But as the story returns to Raccoon City and revisits narrative threads stretching back three decades, many fans felt the franchise’s most iconic rookie-cop-turned-agent had to be part of the closing chapter.

The newly leaked art confirms those suspicions and gives players their first clear look at Leon’s updated design: rugged, tired, and unmistakably shaped by the events of the series’ recent entries.

His presence sets the stage for a story that appears to bridge long-running arcs while introducing new characters such as Grace Ashcroft, and potentially Rosemary Winters, whose name appeared in a recent GameStop listing.
