Anne-Marie sought help from Ed Sheeran on how to juggle parenting and singing

Anne-Marie reveals she sought parenting and career advice from Ed Sheeran as she balances motherhood with her pop career.

Anne-Marie turned to pal Ed Sheeran for advice on how to juggle being a parent and a pop star.

Since the release of Unhealthy in July 2023, the Ciao Adios hitmaker and her 31-year-old husband, rapper Slowthai – real name Tyron Kaymone Frampton – welcomed daughter Seven, 22 months, and son, Forever Sugar, seven months, into the world.

And she sought advice from 34 year old Ed – who co-wrote her smash-hit 2002 in 2018 – because he has successfully balanced being a dad to his and 33-year-old wife, consultant Cherry Seaborn’s daughters, Lyra, five, and Jupiter, three, with growing his illustrious music career.

Anne-Marie, 34, explained to The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column: “Be a parent, it’s hard. It’s like everyone says. It’s the best thing ever and the hardest thing at the same time.

“I think working is definitely hard. I find it harder than I thought I would, but they are beautiful little aliens. It does make you want more, even though you are in hell.

“I go to Ed for a lot of advice, really about kids, but also about everything, really. Now that we have kids, he is like the perfect person to speak to.”

In 2026, Anne-Marie is releasing new music, and she has vowed it will be nothing like the material from her first three albums – 2018’s Speak Your Mind, 2021’s Therapy (2021), and 2023’s Unhealthy.

The Grammy-nominated artist said: “Next year there will be new music. I think I need to switch it up a bit… Will I be rapping? Who knows. I am definitely switching it up.

“I need to make it exciting again, you know. I can’t just come back as the same Anne Marie I have been for 10 years. I am going to do a little spice.”

And Anne-Marie – who, in September, teased fans about what they can expect with her new song, Depressed – stresses that it is important to start “afresh” in the New Year.

Understanding that Christmas can be a tough time for some people, the Remember I Told You singer said: “I am very aware that people feel alone at this time of the year, which makes me sad.

“But I think as long as you get through it and think of the next year and all of your dreams and plans that you want to achieve next year, you will be OK.

“Also, just snuggle up on the sofa and watch a movie with some chocolate. Just take care of yourself and give yourself some love. Next year we start afresh.”
