Gracie Abrams couldn’t be more excited to share her next album with her fans.
Gracie Abrams says she’s “never felt this way about anything I’ve made before” as she teases her next album.
The Risk singer admits it’s “driving me crazy” waiting to share the follow-up to 2024’s The Secret Of Us with her fans.
She told PEOPLE: “I’m beyond ready for it to belong to everyone else. I’ve never felt this way about anything I’ve made before, so it’s definitely driving me crazy in a good way.”
Asked how she feels about the wait, she said: “I love the feeling. I really like it right now. I think I feel kind of calm about it.
“I’ve been lucky enough to spend a lot of time with it.”
Without sharing who she has collaborated with, she added: “At the end of the day, it’s all about the people you get to make things with and spend your time with, and that means the most to me right now.
“So, yeah, any day in the studio is a great day.”
The National’s Aaron Dessner – who has worked with Taylor Swift – co-produced her last studio effort.
Meanwhile, Gracie recently hinted that she’s open to an acting role.
The 26-year-old music star – who is the daughter of film director J. J. Abrams – admits that she’s intrigued by the prospect of acting at some stage in her career.
She told The Hollywood Reporter: “I love a group project. The concept of being on a set is as thrilling as being on tour where everyone who’s there is there for a reason. These kind of creative environments are so incredibly inspiring to me. So yeah, who knows? We’ll see. We’ll see.”
Gracie is currently focused on her music, and she intends to remain tight-lipped about her new material for now.
She said: “I’m going to keep it under wraps, I suppose, until the moment. But right now I’m just very proud.
“It’s definitely my favourite music I’ve ever made, and I feel very closely connected to it. I appreciate so much that these albums are time capsules of where I’m at in my life at any given point, but right now it does feel very like me.
“I hope that whoever finds it, connects with it and that they make it theirs when it’s out one day. But not yet.”
