Rayman set for 30th anniversary edition after leaked classification

Rayman could be getting a 30th anniversary edition.

Rayman could be getting a 30th anniversary edition.

The iconic video game franchise will marked its 30th anniversary towards the end of last year, with plans to celebrate the occasion in 2026.

Now, the Australian Classification Board has unveiled an as yet unannounced new edition.

According to the listing, the G-rated game – the equivalent of the UK’s U rating – will be coming to Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 5.

Atari is listed as both publisher and developer, while a warning is in place for “very mild impact” violence.

In September last year, Rayman brand producer Loic Gonon gave a hint of what to expect, but suggested any firm updates could be a while off.

Writing on the game’s official X account – which was being revived after lying dormant for years – he said: “A very talented team at Ubisoft Montpellier and Ubisoft Milan are currently working on the future of Rayman. “Don’t expect news from us too soon, but rest assured Rayman is in good hands.”

A few months earlier, in May 2025, Ubisoft was advertising for “a prestigious AAA title for the Rayman brand”.

After confirming it was in the early stages of the “exploration phase” for a new Rayman title last year, a job advertisement had suggested the studio was moving forward with the next game for the beloved platforming series, although the status of that project is unclear.

The since-deleted job description reads: “Ubisoft Milan is seeking a talented 3D Gameplay Animator to be involved in the production of a prestigious AAA title for the ‘Rayman’ brand.

“You will be responsible for ensuring the quality and content of gameplay animation assets align with the game’s vision.”
