Former Atomic Kitten star Natasha Hamilton insisted she will never strip off for OnlyFans like her bandmate Kerry Katona no matter how “tough” her financial situation gets.
Natasha Hamilton will never strip off for OnlyFans like her former Atomic Kitten bandmate Kerry Katona.
The 43-year-old singer has opened up about the tough times she’s gone through financially over the years – revealing she struggled to pay back a £250,00 tax debt after leaving the pop group in 2004 – but she’s insisted she would not consider selling saucy snaps online if she suffered money troubles again.
She told The Times newspaper: ” I first really learnt about money when I left Atomic Kitten and was hit with a tax bill of over quarter of a million pounds.
“But even if things got that tough again, I’m not sure I’d go down the OnlyFans route like my Atomic Kitten bandmate Kerry Katona. I have no issues with Kerry doing that. She’s a single mum providing for her kids.”
She went on to explain she was left totally broke after leaving the band to focus on raising her eldest son Josh, now 23.
Natasha said: “The period after Atomic Kitten was incredibly hard. I’d just bought and renovated a house, and I took a step back from work because I had postnatal depression …
“To pay that tax bill I went back to work too quickly and it had a huge impact on my mental health. I had a mental breakdown. My divorce happened.
“I literally had nothing. If I’d cashed in all my assets earlier, maybe I’d have had a couple of million, but it all just went. I remember being on the phone to my bank crying because everything had been paused, and I didn’t even have the login to my online banking because I’d given someone else that power.
“I was too trustworthy and quite naive. Numbers are not my strong point. I remember just crying, thinking I have no idea what I’m supposed to do next … “
Natasha was 16 when she joined Atomic Kitten with Liz McClarnon and Kerry and she previously admitted being famous at such a young age was not healthy.
She told Heat magazine: “Being famous when you’re that young messes with your head. You’re cocooned, not living a ‘real’ life – no bills and no worries. “After I had my first child and left the band, there was nobody advising me about anything. Suddenly, the money stopped, but the bills didn’t.
“I had no plan for what came next, and it was overwhelming. Honestly, it took a long time to put myself back together. There’s no exit plan in pop.”
