Channing Tatum issues update on shoulder injury: ‘This has been the lowest of the lows’

Channing Tatum has been “mentally up and down” more than he has “ever been” in his life since suffering a should injury, but the Magic Mike star has been given the “green light” from a doctor to train again.

Channing Tatum has been “mentally up and down” more than any other time in his life while dealing with a shoulder injury.

The 45-year-old actor has gone through “the lowest of the lows” as he recovers from surgery, which he underwent earlier this year after separating his shoulder, but he admitted it is a “good day”, because he has been given the “green light” from a doctor to train again.

Tatum showed fans his surgery scar in an Instagram video, and he said in the clip: “The scar is actually healing up pretty nice.

“I’m getting some mobility back. It’s atrophied so much though.

“I feel like a toddler in the gym.

“The good news is though, the doctor finally gave me the green light, so I can train.

“It’s a good day, finally.

“This has been a rough one. I’ve been mentally up and down in my head more than I think I’ve ever been in my life.”

Tatum now has six weeks until he starts shooting his next movie, which is about the Isle of Man TT – an annual motorcycle race held on the Isle of Man – and he admitted it is “going to be a grind” training for the film.

He added: “But it’s a beautiful day today. I’ve gotten to train.

“I got six weeks until the next film. It’s going to be a grind.

“Wish me some luck.”

Channing also wrote in the caption: “This one has been the lowest of the lows. But starting to come out the other side. Feeling better than i have in months mentally. 6 weeks till we start the isle of Mann TT motorcycle love story. So let the grind begin. (sic)”

In February, Tatum took to social media to inform fans he had undergone shoulder surgery, and he admitted the recovery would be “hard”.

The Magic Mike star posted X-rays of his separated shoulder and one with a screw in place on his Instagram Story.

Channing also shared a black and white photo of himself in bed wearing a hospital gown, and he wrote: “Just another day. Another challenge.

“This one is gonna be hard. But whatever. Let’s get it in.”

Channing did not confirm when the injury occurred, and it’s not known if it’s related to him getting hurt in the set of Avengers: Doomsday last summer.
