Elle Fanning has discussed her role in Margo’s Got Money Troubles, the comedy-drama series.
Elle Fanning has an OnlyFans persona in Margo’s Got Money Troubles.
The 28-year-old actress’ latest project required her to develop more than one character, and Elle has explained how she approached playing aspiring writer Margo Millet and her OnlyFans persona HungryGhost.
She told E! News: “With HungryGhost, even the costumes that we came up with, I love that they’re kind of DIY at times. We have Susie—played by Thaddea Graham—who’s my roommate, and she’s a cosplayer, and she designs costumes.
“So, we were thinking, ‘Gosh, what would Susie design for Margo?’ We had a lot of fun with it.”
Elle took the character’s aesthetics even further, painting herself blue for the role.
She said: “We decided, ‘Why don’t we just paint myself blue?’ So on those days, it took a lot of time in the makeup chair, but they had to cover me in this turquoise paint. But I liked it.”
Elle explained that HungryGhost represents a creative outlet for Margo, who is struggling to support herself and her baby.
The actress explained: “She’s an aspiring writer, when we meet her in the beginning of the show. She has such big dreams. Then, life throws some curveballs at her and she thinks that she has to give up on all of those aspirations and all those dreams that she had.
“So in creating HungryGhost, those dreams are kind of fulfilled again, or there’s a light and a newfound spark that she gets to have.”
Elle doesn’t have any children of her own, but she found a way to connect with her on-screen character.
The Hollywood star said: “What I kept coming back to is—what I imagine is—just this unconditional love that you have for your child, and how you were willing to do anything for them to have a better life than you had. I think that’s where everything is coming from.”
