Music star Hilary Duff has revealed that she feels better than ever before.
Hilary Duff has felt “better and better” as she’s aged.
The 38-year-old pop star appears on the cover of the new Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue, and Hilary admits that she feels proud of her body.
The blonde beauty – who released Luck… or Something, her latest album, earlier this year – told Sports Illustrated: “Getting to come to South Caicos and roll around on the beach with everybody making me look beautiful and taking gorgeous photos is such a fun experience and a great marker of time for my life.
“I love this age that I’m at. Being 38, like, I’m going to look back and be like, ‘That’s crazy. I’m so happy to have it documented.'”
Hilary has felt better and better the closer she gets to 40.
She said: “Everything that people say about ageing is true. You start to, like, feel better and better as you go. And I’m trying to keep reminding myself that instead of critiquing, celebrate.”
Hilary said the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit shoot was an honour, and the actress reflected on what she would tell her younger self.
Hilary said: “This was definitely, like, a safe environment and felt really fun, but it was, like, a complete honour to be asked to do something like this. I think if I was telling, like, early 2000s Hilary, I would be like, ‘Just stop worrying so much about what other people think. You’re gonna be good, girl. Don’t worry about it.'”
Hilary also joked about how her younger self would react to seeing the photos.
The pop star – who first found fame as a child – said: “Early 2000s Hilary would be like, ‘You are wild and so risqué.'”
Meanwhile, Hilary didn’t release an album for 11 years until Luck… or Something, but she always planned to make another record.
She previously told Variety: “I always knew I was going to return to music.
“I needed to feel safe and I needed to have the right people in my corner and be absolutely 100 percent ready.
“Honestly, I needed to have 10 years of life under my belt. I needed a lot to say. This album feels like the inner workings of my brain and I really am so excited to connect with people again on that level, that very forward-facing level.”
