Hilary Duff has suggested she is “done” with having children because it is so hard on her body.

Hilary Duff has suggested she is “done” with having children.

The 38-year-old singer-and-actress – who has son Luca, 14, from her marriage to Mike Comrie, and daughters Banks, seven, Mae, five, and Townes, two, with husband Matthew Koma – struggled with a lot of pain during her last pregnancy and also found it hard to keep up with the needs of her other kids, which she has taken as a sign her body doesn’t want to go through carrying another child.

Speaking on Kylie Kelce’s Not Gonna Lie podcast, she said: “For me, by my third trimester of my fourth [pregnancy], in my body, for the first time, being pregnant was, like, in a lot of pain.

“I think my body was like, we don’t need to do this again.

“I can’t keep up with three kids and be as, like, active and running around with them and climbing up in the top bunk and down and, you know, on my feet all day. My body was like, we’re done.”

The Younger actress admitted she has never enjoyed being pregnant.

She said: “It’s never been easy. No pregnancy, not a single one of my pregnancies have I ever just been like, ‘Oh my god, I love this!’ I don’t love it. I love the outcome of it. Hate being pregnant.”

Hilary has a particular issue with “having something in my body.”

She added: “It’s crazy. And then what you’re left with afterwards and how long that whole thing takes and the pressure on you.”

The Lizzie McGuire star noted it’s “all worth it” in the end, but she’s now enjoying feeling “like a person” again.

She said: “I think each time I’ve been pregnant and, kind of, gotten to the other side, and I don’t mean that in a negative way, but just, like, where you’re, like, feel like a person again and your clothes start to fit and all of that, you’re like, oh, I recognise that thing, and that’s happening to me right now.”

Hilary recently admitted she has felt “better and better” as she’s aged.

Appearing on the cover of the new Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue, she said: “Getting to come to South Caicos and roll around on the beach with everybody making me look beautiful and taking gorgeous photos is such a fun experience and a great marker of time for my life.

“I love this age that I’m at. Being 38, like, I’m going to look back and be like, ‘That’s crazy. I’m so happy to have it documented.'”

Hilary has felt better and better the closer she gets to 40.

She said: “Everything that people say about ageing is true. You start to, like, feel better and better as you go. And I’m trying to keep reminding myself that instead of critiquing, celebrate.”
