Taylor Swift has “been through so much” but always “pulls herself through”, according to her pal Suki Waterhouse.
The model/actress/singer has lifted the lid on her friendship with The Life Of A Showgirl star after opening for her friend on the London leg of The Eras Tour at Wembley Stadium last year – and Suki admits she’s full of respect for Taylor because of all the tough times she’s endured and how she’s channelled her pain into her music.
She told Variety: “Knowing her as a friend, she’s actually been through so much. And I think the thing I always see in her is how she pulls herself through every time, and how everything that’s ever happened to her becomes another piece of art that becomes part of the legacy.
“That’s so inspiring – that’s the artist that you want to be.”
Suki also credited the Opalite singer with helping out other artists, adding: “The coolest thing about her is she gives other artists these insane opportunities that really change people’s lives.”
Suki has previously described opening for Taylor at Wembely Stadium as a dream come true because she “manifested” it for a long time before it happened.
She told Rolling Stone magazine: “I was dreaming, dreaming, dreaming of this happening.
“I was manifesting super hard. So when it happened, I was like, ‘Yes, dreams can come true’.”
She added to Interview magazine: “It was the most insane thing. That moment where those automatic doors open and then you just walk out and you’re somewhere that you’ve seen so many times as a kid.
“It definitely was a top, surreal life moment, and so special because it was doing it with Taylor [Swift], who’s been so supportive and is such a great friend.”
She went on to add she was thrilled her family members were able to see her perform at such a huge venue, saying: “Also, just having all of your family, all of your friends that you grew up with, all huddled together. My parents don’t go to stadium shows with 92,000 people in them ever, so even just getting to experience her show with them was a really magical moment.”
