Nick Jonas was shocked to realise he was wearing Glen Powell’s trousers during a performance.
The 33-year-old star felt something in his back pocket when he was performing on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon back in February, and he made a “bizarre” discovery when he got back to his dressing room and discovered his “good buddy” had left a plane ticket in there.
Speaking on the talk show this week, he recalled: “I felt something in my pocket, and I pulled out whatever was in there, and it was a plane ticket that belonged to Glen Powell…
“Brands from time to time will lend you clothes to wear to an event so you look cool, and I guess Glen had worn these pants prior to me getting the pants.”
Jimmy noted Nick had posted about the confusion on Instagram at the time.
He said: “You called it the Brotherhood of the Traveling Pants.”
Nick replied: “That movie with he and I would get made.”
Jimmy agreed it would be a great movie, and offered to be the third friend in the story.
He then encouraged the Sucker hitmaker to leave a note in his own trousers.
He said: “You should leave him a note if you think that Glen Powell will end up wearing these pants.”
Nick quipped: “Well, he might. Could you have a pen? I can write something down for him.”
The Jumanji: The Next Level actor then wrote a message on a tissue which read: “Dear Glen, please just a friendly reminder to talk to the producers about including your good friend Nick Jonas in the sequel to Top Gun. Thank you.”
Back when Nick posted about the discovery on Instagram, Glen joked in the comments: “They didn’t wash these for you?!? I feel like the Brotherhood of the Traveling Pants should incorporate some sort of hygiene pact.”
The 37-year-old actor later told Entertainment Tonight his friend had FaceTimed him to show him the ticket and asked for permission to post about it.
He said: “I love Nick so much.”
And he admitted his answer was “not no” to the prospect of a Brotherhood of the Traveling Pants movie, a play on the 2005 teen comedy Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants.
