In a rare interview, the 45-year-old entrepreneur and sports agent opened up about the showbiz power pair’s relationship, admitting he didn’t set out to hook up with the Someone Like You hitmaker.
Speaking on the Glass Half Full podcast, he said: “I had known her for some time. You know, just when you’re in these circles, man, you’re in these circles,
“But I never tried to get fresh with people that’s in comfortable circles because they always have to deal with that, so that was never my thing.
“It was really something that happened very organically, really.”
Rich wooed the star – who has son Angelo, 13, with her ex-husband Simon Konecki – by making her laugh, and he soon became a “person of interest” for the 38-year-old pop megastar.
He added: “We just used to always see each other, laugh and joke.
“It was just cordial, really, just cordial. Until it became not so cordial. Until I became a person of interest.”
Rich admitted that while he was familiar with some of Adele’s “monster hits” when they got together, he wasn’t a huge listener of her music.
The sports agent said: “Obviously, you can’t help but to hear the monster hits.
“Obviously, I’m pretty on the pulse of a lot of different things, and so, some of the songs, the big songs, but I didn’t know all of the joints that I know now.”
But Rich also claimed he is the “best singer in the house”.
The couple tend to keep their romance out of the public eye, but in 2021 she gushed over her man.
Speaking to Oprah Winfrey about Rich at her One Night Only concert special, Adele said: “He’s just hilarious. Oh, he’s so funny, and very smart.
“You know, he’s very, very smart. It’s quite incredible watching him do what he does.”
Asked about the best aspects of their relationship, Adele said: “Just the easiness of it. It’s just been very smooth.”
