Ciara and Russell Wilson credit communication and “a lot of prayer” for their long-lasting marriage.
Ciara and Russell Wilson credit “a lot of prayer” for their long-lasting marriage.
The couple – who have Sienna, nine, Win, five, and two-year-old Amora together – celebrate 10 years of marriage this summer, and faith and communication are at the heart of their relationship.
Asked the secret of their relationship, Russell told E! News: “God is a lot of that. A lot of Jesus, a lot of prayer, a lot of quality time, date nights.”
Ciara, 40, added: “Communication rules the nation. [We are] getting better at mastering [those skills every day].”
The Level Up singer – who also has 12-year-old son Future with former fiance Future – believes the “sexiest thing” about Russell is seeing the former NFL star with his kids.
Praising her husband as a “pretty amazing” dad, she said: “I always tell him [that] the sexiest thing about him is watching him be a father to our babies.
“He’s like Superman to us in the house and we all want a piece of Dad.
“He has the biggest heart. We don’t have to worry for nothing, which is a blessing.”
The 37-year-old quarterback adores being a dad and admitted caring for Future is the “greatest blessing” in his life.
He said: “One of the things I’ve realised is the biggest gift that I’ve been given is being a stepdad.
“When you can love somebody that’s biologically not yours, but you love them as if they are, that’s the greatest blessing. That’s the greatest love. And Future has been amazing. He’s the best kid in the world.”
Russell noted all four children are “amazing” together, and the “coolest part” is watching Future be the “leader” amongst the siblings.
The CBS Sports analyst is delighted to see all of his children take an interest in sport.
He said: “They love sports. Future’s constantly wanting to hit extra BP batting practice and throw football outside. Siena hops in. She can hit a long way. And Win’s always wanting to box.”
Earlier this year, Russell accompanied his stepson on a tour of the University of Texas’ athletic department and he thinks the youngster would enjoy a “bright future” at the college.
He said in March: “I think the cool part with sports nowadays is that kids get recruited and looked at early. So, to be able to take him to a school where he would dream about playing? He’s so talented. He’s so good at basketball, football and baseball.”
