Khloe Kardashian: My appearance isn’t ‘natural’

Khloe Kardashian is comfortable speaking openly about the “maintenance” procedures she undergoes.

Khloe Kardashian “loves laser and injectables”.

The Kardashians star is happy for people to know that her appearance isn’t all “natural” because she has undergone certain “maintenance” procedures, which she will continue with until she “needs” a face lift.

She told People magazine: “But I also want people to know, not that anyone thinks this is all natural, but it’s not. There is maintenance involved. I’ve been in the public eye since I was 21. And so age has something to do with it, weight loss for sure.

“But yes, I’ve had enhancements. I’ve had my nose done. I love any sort of laser or injectable. And before I need to get my face surgically done, I’m going to do all the lasers and injectables or whatever that I can.”

The Good American founder and her sister Kim Kardashian are “adventurous” when it comes to trying new treatments.

Khloe said: “With Kim and I specifically, we’ll go down these rabbit holes. I’ll see like it can be a stretch mark laser commercial, and when I send it to her, I’m like, ‘Do you think this is real?’ and we’re like, ‘We need that.’”

The 41-year-old star has regular massages to help ease her migraines – but she doesn’t enjoy them.

She admitted: “I’m always thinking, ‘I can be doing something else with my time,’ but even if I want to just die when I’m lying there, I’m learning to be better about my self-care.”

Khloe – who has had skin cancer removed in the past – used to be “more passive” about her skincare routine but is more disciplined now, with sunscreen an essential.

She said: “I used to be a little more passive with [having a] skincare system. [I would think] It’s fine. I’ll make up for tomorrow.

“[Now] before I go to bed, I like to at least just be highly lubricated from my face to my neck.

“I love a tinted [sunscreen], so I don’t have to wear make-up in the daytime if I’m just running around.

“Taking care of my hands is an obsession of mine. I love any sort of lotion with the retinol in it [for them]. I use sunscreen every day, all the time.”

Over the years, Khloe – who has children True, eight, and Tatum, three, with former partner Tristan Thompson – has faced scrutiny over her weight and her self-esteem plummeted amid personal struggles during the COVID-19 pandemic.

She said: “When I was in my 20s — and maybe I didn’t look a certain way, and maybe I didn’t have the body that other people thought I should have had — I was the happiest. And then being compared to so many other people all the time by the press, I started doing that myself.

“Then I think COVID on top of real personal things that happened in my life, that was the perfect storm of my confidence and my self-esteem shattering. I was sick of not feeling how I used to feel, but when all those things happened, I was just like, ‘You know what? None of this is mine to carry.’”

But now, the reality star is very happy with herself and feels more confident than ever.

She said: “I did a lot of work toward the end of my 30s, going to therapy, all the really cliché things, because I was so uncomfortable with the person that I was becoming. In my 40s, with the wisdom and the security I’ve gained, I’m like, ‘I’m fabulous if I have all this glam on or if I don’t’.’ “
