Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce spent an estimated $30 million on their lavish wedding for 1,000 guests.
The 36-year-old pop superstar married the NFL player at Madison Square Garden in New York City on July 3 taking over the fabled venue for two nights – which included a rehearsal dinner before the big day – and now an expert has claimed the whole event would have cost between $20 and $30 million as the flowers and decor alone would have cost them around $5 million.
Esther Lee, editorial director at The Knot Worldwide, told New York Post column PageSix: “While the average American wedding sits at $34,000, according to The Knot Real Weddings Study, this production would’ve operated on a completely different scale …
“We estimate the decor and florals to be, at minimum, $5 million. Not to forget that custom draping and carpet installation had to transform the space entirely.”
Lee also estimated catering, service and logistics for the 1,000 guests cost would have come to between $2.5 million and $3 million with the bride and groom’s outfits and the entertainment adding another $2 million to the already hefty bill.
She believes planning would have taken months and they would have needed at least six consultation meetings, adding: “Top designers do not just pick a generic theme. Instead, they start with spatial design and figure out how to make a cavernous space feel intimate.”
It comes after a new report suggested Taylor and Travis disappeared after their big day to enjoy a “mini moon” in Montana before taking a longer break in Europe.
A source told the Daily Mail newspaper the couple wanted to enjoy the “newly married bubble” so they headed off on a short break at the exclusive Yellowstone Club in Big Sky, Montana before taking a longer honeymoon elsewhere later in the month.
The publication reports the pair wanted the break to be kept completely secret so they used “decoy” private jets and took separate flights so their movements couldn’t be tracked, however they are believed to have been sighted at the private mountain resort, where they previously spent Independence Day weekend last year.
The newly-weds are believed to have put off plans for a big honeymoon because they have been invited to a wedding in California on Saturday (11.07.26). New York Giants wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster – who previously played with Travis for the Kansas City Chiefs – is marrying his partner Laura Kruk in Orange County and several reports suggest Travis and Taylor are on the guest list.
The couple are said to be planning to jet off on a longer honeymoon after their pal’s big day with the Daily Mail reporting they plan to spend their break island-hopping around Greece and travelling around Europe before Travis is due back at training with the Kansas City Chiefs at the end of July
