Priscilla Presley’s son defends fundraising for new pizza business

Navarone Garibaldi Garcia used GoFundMe in a bid to raise $5,500 for his new venture, but sparked backlash from those questioning why he couldn’t turn to his mum – Elvis Presley’s ex-wife – for some cash.

Priscilla Presley’s son has defended himself after setting up a fundraising page for his personal pizza business.

Navarone Garibaldi Garcia used GoFundMe in a bid to raise $5,500 for his new venture, but sparked backlash from those questioning why he couldn’t turn to his mum – Elvis Presley’s ex-wife – for some cash.

He then took to Instagram to hit back, as he wrote: “Haters gonna hate… and I’m sure I’ll have to explain this many more times to ignorant people who think I should ‘ask my mum’ or that I have money…..

“YEAH, I also have a lot of bills, I also have a budget, I also donate to other causes… I also give to the homeless… I just don’t film and put it on YouTube… but, I also have crazy ADD and try to do lots of things… if I just went all in every time I thought I had a great idea… I’d be broke in 2 days.”

Navarone added that he’s “not asking anyone to donate that can’t afford to”, and is also offering “free pizza” to those who donate.

He continued: “I’m putting in a lot of my own money to buy this oven. Just asking for help on the remaining bit that’s out of my budget.

“That’s all. Love and Peace, Kindness and pizza. The link is in all my stories if you want to help out.”

The accompanying video on the Instagram page saw Navarone sharing the link and encouraging his followers to donate – adding that “every little helps”.

He said: “I already stashed away $3,000 for this. It’s going to be about $8,500 with all the set-up and getting it here. So I’m trying to make $5,500.

“But you can donate here. Every little bit helps. If you can’t donate, you can share this. Everything helps. Thank you.”

After the post, Navarone returned to Instagram on Sunday (12.07.26) to update his followers, revealing that his fundraising attempts are “working”.

He also wrote on the description for the GoFundMe: “I have found a large industrial pizza oven and negotiated it from $14,000 down to $8,500.

“I have 3,000 saved up for this… and the pizza dough and sauces already sourced. It’s just buying the oven that I need to get me started. I would truly appreciate any help.”

As for why he’s not asking Priscilla for the cash, he told TMZ: “She loves the idea but I can’t ask for money for every whimsical idea I have or we both would be broke!”
