Garrett Wareing cast in The Conjuring prequel

However, they’ve now settled on the perfect duo.

Garrett is arguably most well known for playing Lucas Russell in the TV series Ransom Canyon, and has also starred in movies including thriller/horror Dead Sea in 2024.

He has also showed off his acting prowess in shows such as Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists and Chicago Med.

Meanwhile, Amanda is most famous for her role in Orphan Black: Echoes, and has also starred in High School, Daisy Jones the Six and North of Normal.

According to Variety, director Rodrigue Huart will helm the prequel, while screenwriters Richard Naing and Ian Goldberg are to write the prequel’s screenplay.

It’s unclear whether or not Vera or Patrick will have any participation in the prequel, or the new offshoot of the franchise, but the actress told People around the release of their last movie The Conjuring: Last Rites: “Far as we know, there’s nothing else that they want from us.

“The Warrens have reached the end of the road.”

As for what she’s learned from playing Lorraine in the franchise films, Vera replied: “There’s so many lessons we’ve learned.

“There’s the mission statement of the film, that love conquers all fear. But also, in terms of leadership, how to create a beautiful experience for the cast, crew and for ourselves as number one and number two on the call sheet.”

Astonishingly, The Conjuring: Last Rites grossed almost $500 million around the world, while The Conjuring currently stands as the highest grossing horror series ever.

While it’s unclear exactly when the prequel will be set, it will be before 2021, where the more modern movies are set.

It’s had a tentative release date set for 10 September, 2027.
