Sam Asghari has reflected on his time with Britney Spears, and insisted he wants to “stay respectful of the past”.
Sam Asghari feels “nothing but love” for Britney Spears.
The 32-year-old model and actor split from the Toxic hitmaker, 44, just over a year after they got married in June 2022, and he insisted he wants to remain “respectful of the past” and what they shared together.
He told Extra: “I always like to stay respectful of the past. I love to celebrate the past and, you know, what happens in your life in every chapter…
“It’s nothing but love and nothing but experiences that you get to learn.”
Earlier this year, Sam was glad to see his ex-wife check into rehab weeks after she was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol (DUI) in Ventura, California in early March.
Asked about Britney getting treatment, he told TMZ back in April: “I think it’s great.
“I think anything that has anything to do with healing and great things … and as long as the person is in charge of that, it’s all great.”
However, Sam admitted he hasn’t been in contact with Britney recently.
When asked if he has spoken to her “at all”, he said: “Uh, no.”
Just two days after her arrest in March, Sam called for privacy for Britney following her “mistakes”.
He told Fox News: “When it comes to people making mistakes, I understand that. I think that everyone deserves privacy. And I hope the press has learned from the past, that they give her the privacy that she needs.”
Last week, Britney dismissed concerns over her seemingly bizarre antics on a Los Angeles highway, when footage emerged of her standing through the moonroof of an SUV driving on the 101 Freeway.
Sharing a screenshot of herself peering out of the car on Instagram, Britney wrote: “What people see is two seconds of insanity of me arching me to the lords!!!! Yet the days and hours of my reality!!!!! Nothing is what it seems.
“Psss I think I need to come out of the roof quite a bit more.”
Meanwhile, Britney previously explained that she is on a “spiritual journey” after checking into rehab following her arrest for driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol (DUI) in California earlier this year.
In an Instagram post where she posed with a snake in her hands whilst out and about with her children Sean Preston, 20, and Jayden, 19, whom she has with her former husband Kevin Federline, she wrote: “Went to the pet store with my kids and look at what a beautiful baby snake this is.
“Snakes are symbolic of good health, higher consciousness, and pure luck…
“I’m so damn thankful to my friends and so many new beautiful people I have met through my spiritual journey… all a blessing in disguise.(sic)”
