Tate McRae sparks fan frenzy with mysterious posters and surprise teasers ahead of festival weekend

The singer has sent her fans into detective mode after dropping cryptic visuals in Chicago and hinting at a brand‑new era.

Tate McRae has thrown her fanbase into full detective mode after dropping a string of cryptic clues that appeared to hint at something big on the horizon.

Chicago woke up to a wave of hand‑drawn posters featuring four different shots of the singer, each one flagging her upcoming sets at Osheaga and Lollapalooza – but it was a tiny detail that really set the rumour mill spinning.

Printed on the posters were the numbers “10 1”, a combination fans immediately seized on as a possible nod to an October 1 reveal. With no explanation from Tate and no comment from her team, speculation exploded across social media.

The posters landed just hours after Tate posted a stripped‑back photoshoot online, paired with the caption: “Montreal, Chicago. See u soon.” The sleek visuals – a sharp contrast to the bold look of her So Close to What era and Miss Possessive Tour – had fans convinced she’s quietly ushering in a brand‑new chapter.

Then came the TikTok. Tate shared a playful clip from the same shoot, joking: “Hi I’m Tate McRae and ur watching Disney channel (sic).” It was enough to send her comments section into chaos, with fans declaring “TM4 is coming” and analysing every frame for clues.

Whether Tate is teasing a single, an album rollout or something entirely different remains a mystery, but the timing has only intensified the hype. She headlines Osheaga in Montreal on August 1 before hitting Lollapalooza in Chicago the following day.

Tate is no stranger to debuting new music at Lollapalooza, with fans having heard It’s ok I’m ok live for the first time at the festival last year.

The singer’s 2025 album So Close to What – including the hit single Sports Car – topped the charts around the globe.
