Stassi Schroeder has hit out the bosses of Vanderpump Rules, the long-running reality show.
Stassi Schroeder has accused Vanderpump Rules bosses of giving preferential treatment to the show’s male stars.
The 38-year-old reality star has claimed that Vanderpump Rules, the hit TV show, protected the male stars over their female counterparts.
Speaking to Katie Maloney in the series premiere of Freeform and Hulu’s House of Stassi, she explained: “I loved Vanderpump Rules but it also is literally what we’re gonna have PTSD about and have to talk to therapists about for the rest of our life.”
Stassi accused Bravo, the studio behind the TV show, of making the “girls look psychotic” with the way it was edited.
She said: “It was always, ‘Make the girls look psychotic, make the girls look like they have issues’. They covered for the boys, they covered for the men.”
Stassi starred on Vanderpump Rules between 2013 and 2020, and she now has mixed feelings about the show that made her famous.
The reality TV star explained: “I’m so appreciative of it, and it’s given me so many opportunities. But it normalised so much darkness.
“It rewarded so much darkness until it didn’t. And then coming back to reality TV, I’m like, ‘Are you being a dumb b****?’
“I’m scared of reality TV but it’s all I know. I love it but I’m also traumatised by it. But I can’t stay away from it. But I was not gonna let Vanderpump Rules be my legacy.”
Meanwhile, Lisa Vanderpump previously claimed that there’s “a lot more depth” to the new stars of Vanderpump Rules.
The reality star gave fans an insight into the rebooted show in 2025.
Speaking on the Watch Party by Bravo: Vanderpump Rules Premiere panel, Lisa shared: “One of the most important things for me is that I like them all. I really do.
“For all their naughtiness and their hijinks … there are other aspects to their character that you will see, things that they have been through in life that change your opinion, more sensitive sides of them. They talk about relationships, relationships with their parents. All of those characters, you see a surface, but there’s a lot more depth.”
