Buckingham Palace has announced the arrival of Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank’s third child, with King Charles said to be “delighted” as the couple celebrate the birth of their daughter.

Revealing she and her husband, Jack Brooksbank, are “beyond in love” after welcoming a daughter in Portugal, the royal, 36, shared the news on Instagram on Tuesday (04.08.26) after giving birth on Monday (03.08.26) evening at a hospital in Lisbon.
Buckingham Palace confirmed King Charles, 77, and Queen Camilla, 79, had been informed and were “delighted” by the arrival.
The baby is the third child for Eugenie and Jack, 40, joining brothers August, five, and Ernest, two.
The family divide their time between the UK and Portugal, where Jack is based for work.
Eugenie’s birth news comes just months after Buckingham Palace announced her pregnancy and follows renewed public attention on the York family after her sister Princess Beatrice and her returned to a major royal family gathering at their cousin Peter Phillips’ wedding following a period away from public royal events.
It also comes amid continued scrutiny of royal finances after a National Audit Office report examined residential arrangements for non-working members of the Royal Family.
Announcing the birth on Instagram, Eugenie said: “Jack and I are so excited to announce Baby Girl Brooksbank!! We are beyond in love with our girlie” followed by five heart emojis.
Buckingham Palace said: “Her Royal Highness Princess Eugenie and Mr Jack Brooksbank are delighted to announce the safe arrival of their daughter, born on Monday, 3rd August 2026, at 6.20pm, at a hospital in Lisbon, Portugal.
“The baby was born weighing 6 pounds 9 ounces. Their Majesties the King and Queen and other members of The Royal Family were delighted to be informed of the news.”

The baby does not hold the style of Her Royal Highness and will not receive a royal title.
She becomes 15th in the line of succession, moving Prince Edward, the Duke of Edinburgh, to 16th place. She is also the 15th great-grandchild of the late Queen Elizabeth II and the fifth grandchild of Eugenie’s parents, the former Prince Andrew, 66, and Sarah Ferguson, also 66.
Eugenie announced her pregnancy in May with a photograph of August and Ernest looking at an ultrasound scan.
She wrote: “Baby Brooksbank due 2026!” followed by red heart emojis and a baby emoji.
Buckingham Palace said at the time: “Her Royal Highness Princess Eugenie and Mr Jack Brooksbank are very pleased to announce that they are expecting their third child together, due this summer.
“August aged five and Ernest aged two are also very excited to have another sibling join the family. His Majesty The King has been informed and is delighted with the news.”
Eugenie and Jack married at St George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle, in 2018, in one of the year’s highest-profile royal weddings following the marriage of Prince Harry, 41, and Meghan Markle, 44.
Guests included the late Queen Elizabeth II, the Prince and Princess of Wales, Robbie Williams and Ellie Goulding, 39.
Jack has worked in the hospitality and drinks industries, including roles with Mahiki, Peyote, Tonteria and Casamigos Tequila, the company co-founded by George Clooney.
The birth follows a period in which Eugenie and Beatrice returned to a more visible role within wider family occasions after missing Easter Sunday, Royal Ascot and Wimbledon earlier this year.
Their absence came amid continuing attention surrounding their father Andrew due to his Jeffrey Epstein scandal and wider questions about arrangements for non-working members of the Royal Family.
A National Audit Office report published recently examined residential property arrangements across the Royal Household, including accommodation occupied by Beatrice and Eugenie in royal palaces, while the York family remains under public scrutiny over the Epstein scandal.
Despite living largely outside the spotlight in recent years, Eugenie has continued to support a number of charitable causes, particularly those focused on anti-slavery campaigns, conservation and healthcare, while maintaining a public profile through social media and selected royal engagements alongside Beatrice.
